Monica’s company was looking to fill a training need and, rather than leveraging external resources, it was decided to reduce costs by utilizing internal employees. To be successful, this program required a group of dedicated employees who were willing to go beyond their designated roles. After the program was instigated, internal employees became certified instructors. It was then determined that a support community was needed to establish deeper connection between facilitators and program owners.

Results

The community provided a rich learning experience, not only for those who completed the training but also for those already certified. Through sharing experiences and asking questions, either in Teams channels, group calls or breakout rooms, community members were able to lean on one another and grow in their capabilities.

In addition to the internal training, the community also served as a central location to find new opportunities to help the company with the knowledge they had gained. Trainers from a variety of roles throughout the company and around the world, were able to bring rich and unique perspectives to help create a truly diverse and inclusive experience.

“I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the incredible energy and commitment you continue to bring to the work and to this community. “
